With Summer almost here, it might seem hard to maintain your lawn. However even basic a simple well grown lawn will make any landscape look better. Here are some tips to help you maintain your lawn.
1) Mow your lawn at intervals
Mowing your lawn will help it look nice and tidy. And you can use the clippings from mowing it for fertilizer afterwards in order to help the grass grow more. In the spring and fall you can mow about once a week or at a higher setting since it does not grow as fast, however during the summer, you may want to mow up to three times a week. However leaving the grass a little long can help protect the roots and promote healthy growth for the grass. Just know that it does not matter how far you cut it since it will just grow back at the same speed.
2) Fertilize your lawn
You do not have to worry about this much but it would be good to do it at least twice a year. They have fertilizers that are meant to help protect your lawn by strengthening them for either the summer or the winter by using different nutrient blends for the different times of the year. However make sure your fertilizer does not have the basic nutrients. The fertilizers should include even the ones that are not needed in high quantities in order to encourage plant growth.
3) Watering your lawn
It is best to water your lawn early in the morning or late in the evening. The reason for this, is that the soil will be able to absorb more water before it evaporates since the temperatures at these points will be cooler then during the day. Also it is better to ensure you deeply water the soil rather then just water the surface of the soil. By doing this, you encourage the roots to grow further down rather than having the grass on the surface. By encouraging the roots to grow downward, your also encouraging the roots to go where there is more nutrients while discouraging the roots from staying on the surface. Don’t worry however if your grass turns brown. By giving it more water, they can turn a healthy green again.
These are just some simple tips that will help your lawn grow. If you use these basic tips when maintaining your lawn, you can help the growth of your lawn and even have a chance to reduce the amount of weeds on your lawn.
