Summer’s over and it’s time to start preparing your lawn for next year. In September you will want to weed your lawn. Herbicides are effective this time of year. Put out compost and grass clippings so it will be ready after winter. October is the month that allows you to prepare your lawn for next year. You’ll want to rake up any remaining leaves, bag them up. Seed and fertilize your lawn for the last time. Avoid cutting your shrubs at this point. Make sure they get enough water before the ground freezes but stop watering plants and bushes once they have lost their leaves.

After your lawn cutting, clean your equipment and put it away for winter’s rest. Enjoy the time off and start looking for sales on any new equipment you need during the off season.
